Sunshine Dentists offers a green and clean design with professional photos to emphasize each topic. Each article is written in a friendly manner covering topics we come across on a regular basis, like dealing with your children’s teeth during the Halloween candy season.

Chicago Dentistry offers a regular blog with entertaining topics accompanied by clever photos. The intriguing topics kept us searching the archive for more, like, “Six awesome surprising toothpaste uses.” Defogging mirrors and goggles with toothpaste? …I’m going to try that!

New Dentist Now features resources for new dentists and dental students as well as news and insight on the dental profession and beyond. This is a must for recent graduates. Articles include, “Nail that phone interview.”
Bright Now! Dental has offered easy-going and consistent content since 2009 that is very playful not only in their topics but especially in the featured pictures chosen with each article. One recent article and picture that stood out to me was, “How to keep teeth healthy at the office.”
The Dental Geek is a place where you can read about and communicate openly on relevant, unique, and sometimes controversial topics in the field of dentistry. Their intent is that it be filled with insight that offers something for everyone in every aspect of their dental environment. One helpful article for dental assistants, “Test Prep Tips for Your Dental Assisting Exam” is something we haven’t seen on other blogs.
Ask Dr. Spindel is a preventive dentist, who emphasizes frequent cleaning, patient homecare, and timely intervention, since this is the best way to eliminate many of the problems patients’ experience. The scope of preventive dentistry may extend beyond the mouth. On his blog, he answers a multitude of well-researched questions and topics like, “How do you handle no-shows?”
Best Dentist News has provided useful and well-informed dental information for patients since October 2009. The blog also has some intriguing articles I haven’t seen before like, “How can green tea help your smile?” and “Drugs vs. diet soda” which speaks about a recent study by General Dentistry comparing the effects various habits have on your teeth.
The Blogging Dentist is a blog promoting the idea that dentists should be blogging; also about other dental matters …whatever they feel like, really. The articles do cover a wide-range of topics including, “Dr. Oz is wrong about amalgam fillings” to “Does my dental office need a blog?” Read the Dr. Oz article here.
The Dental Warrior is written by Dr. Mike who has been practicing since 1988. He’s been participating in dental forums and blogs since 1992 and stands out with his “forthright honesty” which has allowed to be named in the “top 10 most prolific posters” and the “top 10 most subscribed to” poster. A post that stood out to us, “Dissecting a Dental Ad” is a good lesson for those dentists out who can use some pointers when creating their own print work.
Delta Dental blog is run by a company offering national dental coverage—administering programs and reporting systems that provide groups and individuals with quality, cost-effective dental benefits and superior customer service. We found too many articles that jumped out at us and wanted to read more, including: Certain Kids Could Benefit from more fluoride , Kids Need to Brush Longer and More Often, Are Two Annual Dental Visits One Too Many – Or Not Enough? , to name a few. Must read!
